AI medical scribe comparison

Side-by-side AI medical scribe comparison: Notat vs Abridge, Dragon Copilot, Suki, Nabla, Ambience, Heidi, Freed, DeepScribe, Commure, and Sully — dated, sourced, and fair.

How we compare

Every comparison page shows when each competitor claim was last verified and links its public source. Anything we cannot verify is marked "Not publicly documented" — never guessed. The comparisons cover AI architecture and hallucination safeguards, features, languages, compliance, deployment, and how to get started.

The one architectural difference to check first

Ask any vendor: is the note generated straight from the transcript, or from verified structured data — and can the clinician see that data? Notat’s FactsContext™ engine (patent pending) extracts clinical facts first, writes only from them, and shows you the raw facts. That single difference drives trust, review speed, and everything downstream.

See it sync, live

Record on your phone or your desktop — Notat keeps every device in sync in real time. Every note, code suggestion, and follow-up plan is generated live from FactsContext™, the structured clinical facts behind everything Notat writes.

How to judge a scribe in a free trial

  1. Record a real (consented) visit in the language you actually consult in, then check every fact in the note against what was said.
  2. Try a messy visit: interruptions, two problems, a family member talking. That is where scribes invent or drop details.
  3. Check whether you can see what the note was written from, not just the finished text.
  4. Time the whole loop: from the end of the visit to a signed note in your record system.
  5. Ask where audio and notes are stored, for how long, and whether a data processing agreement or BAA is available.

Are these comparisons fair?

We aim to be. Claims are dated and sourced, unverifiable cells say so explicitly, and every page includes honest reasons to choose the competitor. If something is out of date, tell us and we will fix it.

What makes Notat different from all of them?

The FactsContext™ engine: facts extracted first, documentation generated from the facts, and the raw facts shown to the clinician. Plus spoken capture in 90+ languages, product translation in 15 languages, GDPR-native EU hosting, HIPAA with BAA, and zero audio retention.
